Hemp has been used for 1000s of years and always will be, Fast forward to today and hemp is used for a multitude of products, from natural food supplements and clothing, beauty products, wax, rope, building materials, fuel and so much more
Many CBD products can be bought online, but the quality and content is normally not known.
CBD is a type of cannabinoid, which is a chemical that occurs naturally in cannabis plants, CBD is not a psychoactive chemical
Inside the human body, there’s the endocannabinoid system, with its receptors spread throughout the body and brain.
What many people don’t know is that the endocannabinoids can activate these receptors. The human body can naturally activate these receptors, as well as the plant cannabinoids.
While some people prefer products that contain both THC and CBD, , 'Full spectrum' the benefits of CBD are still present without the THC.
When you combine CBD and THC, the CBD blocks the psychoactive action of THC, as a result, the benefits of CBD are not dependent on the presence of THC.
There has been a fair amount of confusion surrounding the legality of CBD oil. But while the vast majority of cannabinoids are controlled substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act, rest assured that CBD oil is legal across the UK as a food supplement provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved. These strains contain very little to no THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid).
CBD oil is most readily available as a tincture. This can be taken by applying a few drops under your tongue, holding in your mouth for a few moments so it can be faster absorbed, before swallowing. It can also be added to water or hot drinks. A spray form is available (simply spray under your tongue), as are capsules, gummies, creams that can be applied topically, and e-liquid for vape pens.
